Our Story

In 1971, South Highland Child Development Center opened its doors with the goal to provide all children the opportunity to receive meaningful Christian care. Over 50 years later, our dedicated staff continues to strive for this goal, cultivating a safe and happy learning environment where children receive quality developmental care through intellectual, physical, spiritual and social activities. Our hope is to foster a loving community where your child is free to explore and expand their mind – ultimately, instilling in them a lifelong love of learning.

Philosophy

In an effort to aid young children in reaching a productive and meaningful maturity, SHCDC has adopted a statement of philosophy which reflects our belief that each child should be encouraged to reach their individual potential. With the help of our well-trained staff, SHCDC strives to:

Promote physical
growth

Facilitate social adjustment

Support spiritual awareness

Enhance cognitive development

Increase emotional security

SHCDC fosters a nurturing atmosphere where children are exposed to new adventures through well-planned, creative activities. Comprehensive safety and health regulations are observed and nutritionally sound meals are provided.

To ensure continued program superiority, we are committed to continuing staff education and evaluation, as well as community interaction and awareness. Our dedication to each child seeks to ensure that they will lead a life filled with healthy, worthwhile experiences.
